  • Le dragon sur fond bleu évoque saint Michel.
  • La tour blanche sur fond rouge rappelle les armoiries de Catillon sur Sambre, dont la Groise était autrefois un hameau.
  • L’épée symbolise à la fois la séparation d’avec Catillon, l’attribut traditionnel de saint Michel patron de l’église, ainsi que l’ordre du Temple, présent dans la région.
